24 Hour Prayer in Philadelphia

New Connection: Bound 4 Life Philly

July 16, 2008 · 3 Comments

Today I found out about a sister stream in the city – Bound 4 Life Philly.

They are located in the University City area and affiliated with Lou Engle’s ministry which stands for Life. This is really encouraging, and I am posting their next siege information below.

It’s time to unite together in prayer for the next generation!

Calling all Intercessors!

In preparation for The Call… Bound4Life Philly is looking for 260 intercessors to build a wall of prayer in front of the Planned Parenthood on Saturday August 9, 2008 @1144 Locust Street from 8am-12pm. God has called us to stand like Joshua and pray for the walls of abortion to fall. For this Siege we will need to know if you plan to attend. Come take a Joshua Stand with us!

It’s not a Protest It’s a Prayer Meeting

I’m marking this down on my personal calendar and taking a stand with you!  It is important to contact Bound 4 Life Philly as there is limited participation per zoning. If you’re coming, reserve a spot before they run out of space!

Oh man, is My Space awful or what!

I didn’t know that Bound4Life had a chapter here in Philly. That’s cool.

About the event, do we have any idea what this ‘wall’ is supposed to be? Are we literally building a ‘wall’ of people before the entrance of PP? If so, I would feel a little concerned about how we are showing love to the mother’s involved by making it harder from them to get in. It’s complex, but those women need to feel love and building a wall (even if it is of praying people) at the entrance, would I think feel more like a protest than it would be a statement of love to them.

Hopefully, God’s leading is on this. I don’t think these women need to feel any more condemned than they do already (although that’s probably human reasoning rather than God’s).

Have you ever stood at a clinic before? I can tell you that if the wall is anything other than a symbolic one, people will end up in the jail. :( No need to worry about the wall or the mothers, we are there to pray. No gory signs either, just red duct tape with the word LIFE on it. Come on out and make a statement to the city.

Woah… You’re comment totally changed or something from the e-mail… Weird.

No, I’ve never stood at a clinic before and I assumed that with Lou’s mentality in all this would preclude the idea of building a physical wall, but I didn’t know if B4L had changed at all since Lou left direct leadership over it. The greatest sin the Church has committed in all of this since 1973 next to our silence is our treatment of mothers who have had or are thinking of having abortions. So, we really do need to think of the mothers in all of this. However, our silence has to be ended as well. Like I said, it’s complex, but at least it sounds like we’re not going to make the same mistakes we’ve always made. :)

Anyway, I don’t think I’m going to be able to make it out, but I’m sure you’ll blog about the event. Will add it to my prayer list.
